Unlit, this sconce reads as a ball of pale veined stone on the wall. When it is lit, the light glows through the marble and shows the veining from within. Seen close and unlit, the sphere shows its material: white marble with gray and dark veining. It is natural stone with a polished surface. This is a hardwired light: no plug and no cord on the wall.
